Today Jazz dropped 118,396 ideas. This took the existing to 5,051,513 … in other words, it’s now half way dead. I personally now hold 2,309,577 ideas so I’m almost a quarter of the way to the ten million ownership target.
I conservatively estimate the unofficial death-date(the date when there’s 10 million existing ideas - pushing Jazz into penalty) as 10th September 2008 (approximately 50 days time give or take.)
My estimation of official death-date(when I personally own 10 million making it impossible for anyone else to bring it out of penalty) as 10th October 2008 (approximately 80 days from now.)
I’ve currently been in the process of killing Jazz for 54 days(ish).
This has been a successful project in my opinion. OK it’s cost me billions of B$ but it should have sent a clear message to the Blogshares players about sniping massive amounts of ideas.
People could have taken their 10001 or whatever with no consequence but the blatant snipe to try to build the industry was not on, and will not be tolerated in future either. I know how to build an industry and can concentrate on that happily. I have the knowledge and more importantly the blogs/tools at my disposal to make killing an industry an incredibly easy thing to do. It really is as easy as 2 clicks once it’s set up. I could theoretically reindex the entire Jazz droppables(66 blogs at the moment) in the one drop cycle but I prefer to let some ideas go elsewhere or might get called away and miss the drop! Currently I’m using 4 or 5 drops a day(which is 4 or 5 clicks a day!) As I get nearer the target I might well revert to a daily single drop for ease.
It’s obvious to me that this is an unattainable date. I went on holiday for two weeks and have been away from the game a lot so couldn’t keep the commitment up on this.
Hopefully the date won’t be extended by too much. I currently have around 4.9million ideas personally with the industry touching 8 million.
This equates to about 20 more days, give or take. Which sounds about right for a 14 day absence + R/L getting in the way.
I’d say I’m still on target then!
