All new Stud’s been released into the wild with some very basic functionality. I’m adding to this all the time and we should have a decent bot soon enough.

As of this post game related commands consist of a Turbo-PM Bidder(makes a clickable Player Market list of industries you still need at a single price) and a Blogless Lister(makes a clickable list of all industries with no blogs in them, as well as links to google’s blogsearch and twitter searches for these industries)

I’ve recently completed a little project for the GIC which will hopefully make your blogshares and real lives coincide a bit easier.

It’s a simple Not Safe For Work flagging system so that you can decide if it’s appropriate for you at that time to click through to an actual blog and it works like this…
NSFW - before

There is an added link next to the “Report an Error with this listing” link in the table to “Flag Blog As NSFW”. If you have clicked through to the blog to moderate or vote and find it to be not safe for work, i.e featuring nudity/bad language/loud background music etc. you can click this link and it will be flagged as Not Safe For Work.

So then what? Well a couple of things happen. Firstly the link you just clicked changes to bold red “Not Safe For Work!” also the table changes colour to red from green…

This is stored in the database so that any future visitor to the page is met with a red table and the not bold red flagged text.

Just waiting on it being rolled out now by someone who has write privs ;oP

The GIC And Me

I’ve been approached to be a member of the GIC and declined for the following reasons:

  • I don’t feel I have the time available to dedicate to the game, as a role requires.
  • I don’t want to be(or be seen to be) answerable for the administration of the game.
  • I can ‘improve’ the game without role.

However I have been given certain privileges within the game normally reserved for GIC, such as access to the GIC IRC channel and Forum Section.

In the interests of transparency I just thought you all should know how it’s working. I’m helping out with ideas and the implementation of these ideas on a ‘when I can manage the time’ basis. I’m always happy to do what I can to assist in the betterment of the game. I just can’t dedicate the time to justifying an actual full role.

I’ve put the site back up as a useful resource for the game. Lots of images around the place are gone forever but I’ve tried to claw back as many scripts and tools as possible to have the site functioning properly.

Sell Off And New Corporation

So anyone who’s been watching will have noticed that I sold off all my chips, ideas and blogs, then donated the cash away to various places. This is not a cause for concern but I’m happy that so many already contacted me to find out what’s going on.

This post is by way of explanation. I have created a new corporation called “Just For The Hell Of It” where myself and any players in the game who want to, can do pretty much any legal play, just for the hell of it. I figure if I get rid of all my holdings then I am pretty much free from repercussions of this. So when I decide to index an entire industry, I can do so without fear of the person working it hitting something of ‘mine’. etc.

I’m quite excited about this new venture. I intend to use my game play time to throw a few curve balls. I might decide to use 900 artefacts to buzz/slump the available index, or raid everything available, or sit in someone’s folder killing deads, or HTO twitter for a day. etc.

I’m talking about actions with no ‘worth’ other than my own amusement. These might put money into the BS economy or they might take money out of it. It’s quite random and that’s what I’m hoping for. Rantz already made a cool mission in the corp to reindex 115 incomings on a blog for a chips reward. This is the kinda thing I’m talking about.

Each player in the corp is free to come up with a ‘target’ event and I’m happy to join in with it. I’m not playing to earn anymore, I’m playing for another target entirely, which makes for a whole new game within the boundaries of the game.

I also want to make this blog the ultimate resource for the Blogshares player with easy to follow tutorials, helpful hints, little-known techniques to aid game-play and other little snippets of information. This will mean a bit of a redesign of the blog, but hopefully it’ll all come together for the good of the players.

So that’s my new game-plan. Stop playing for money, start playing for randomness and the good of the community.

I’ve completed the Jazz project. It’s cost lots of B$. It should show people that I am plenty ready to hit anything where I feel my friends or I have been unfairly treated.

It’s all legal play - including the sniping that triggered this, which I accept and I don’t whine about it - I use legal play to fix the injustice.

I now own 10million ideas which means however many people remove from the game there will always be 10million existing ideas and the industry will remain in penalty. My advice - sell your ideas before they are B$0.05.

I have also removed my Jazz links, so you might want to check if you own anything I was linking to in Jazz - it just lost 9 incomings!

Turbo Player Market Script Passed!

As mentioned in this historical document I was waiting on Admin approval for one of my scripts, well tonight that approval was given by MrPilot!!

So now you can play with btk’s Turbo PM Bidder (catchy isn’t it!)

How it works..

It reads your needed ideas page, makes a list for you of everything you need.

“Is that all?” I hear you ask. Well, of course not! pah! It then lets you fill in an amount (1) and a price(bid)(use a stupid number like 7232323). You select the industries you wish to utilise this bid on(them all!) and click a button.

Some magic happens and you are presented with a list of URLs.

“Big deal, what do I want with some URLs?” you might ask. Haha, this is the clever bit.

Double click an URL and it’ll make your bid for you. This is brilliant for these reasons - you don’t need to fill in individual bid amounts OR verify them. If you click you bid(providing you don’t have bids already out there in the industries. How many industries can you bid on by double clicking? Shedloads more than you can by manually typing in an amount and a price and verifying for every single industry you need! That’s for sure.

One word of warning though(and this is reminded to you in the script) click too fast and you WILL get a BSEC case so take it easy.

RIP Jazz

It’s taken about a month longer than I had estimated, due to my tardiness with it and other reasons but Jazz is finally dead.

I still have just under 3.5million jazz ideas to drop to make it unfixable, but as of today it’s in penalty, therefore it’s only a matter fo time before it’s a penny idea.

This has cost the sniper the grand total of B$72,308,198,643,000.00 (seventy-two trillion, three hundred and eight billion, one hundred and ninety-eight million, six hundred and forty three thousand blogdollars! - or in UK numbers… seventytwobillion-threehundredandeightthousandonehundredandninetyeightmillion-sixhundredandfortythreethousand blogdollars)

Let this be a warning to snipers.
